Youth Science Communication Workshop

Pittsburgh Summer 2025

What are Youth Science Communication Workshops?

Youth Science Communication Workshops provide middle school students an ingress into scientific inquiry and digital composing. Over the course of a single day, our participants investigate a topic, gather image and sound data, and then use basic HTML coding or podcasting to communicate and circulate their findings. At the end of the day, our participants return home with a science communication project link they can share with family and friends. In our session, participants will:

  • explore or investigate a science-related topic
  • gather image and sound data
  • create and circulate digital content
  • inform science and environmental policy
  • And best of all...It's Free! But please bring an allergy free lunch (no peanuts).
